Package Itinerary

The tour includes visit of the South of Belarus – one of the main regional centers and city of a thousand-year history –Brest. In the city you will visit the memorial complex «BREST HERO-FORTRESS» the place that the became a symbol of Soviet resistance against Nazi troops at the Second World War. After Brest you will head for the Belovezhskaya Pushcha – the unique wood where powerful bisons live .

Day 1

Moving ito Brest (350 km)

Visual tour to the Brest Cathedral of St. Simeon, which is the main Orthodox church in the city, which is its true decoration and pride. Built in 1865 in the pseudo-Russian style, the cathedral looks especially majestic in the evening in the rays of night illumination. One of the main shrines of the temple are the relics of St. Martyr Athanasius, Abbot of Brest, who despite tortures and torments did not renounce Orthodoxy. At the centre of the fortress you see "Thirst", a large monument depicting an injured soldier trying to get some water from the river. The monument reflects the bravery of the last remaining soldiers who defended the Fortress for many days without food or water. The main part of the memorial is the Square of Ceremonies, leading to the Museum of the Defence of Brest fortress and the ruins of the White Palace. The Museum of the defense of the Brest fortress exposition reflects not only the military actions of 1941 in the territory of the fortress but also the history of its construction, the largest battles of the Great Patriotic War and the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders. The Museum of the defense was opened in 1956, since that time its area and exposition have doubled up, items from excavations, works of art, military documents, photographs are presented here. The most valuable among all items of the exposition are the records of S.S. Smirnov with memories of the participants in the defense of the Brest Fortress. Church of St. Nicholas in Brest - is a magnificent example of a temple in retrospective Russian style, the first mention of which dates back to 1390. According to legend, the church was built with the means of a merchant who, having got bogged down in the river, was able to free himself only by giving a promise to build a church in Brest in the name of St. Nicholas. The church had its own long history - so, here was one of the oldest in Belarus cathedral brotherhood, operated a hospital.


Moving ito Belovezhskaya puscha (57 km)

Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park is one of the most famous places in Belarus and plays a very important role in the ecology of Belarus. As well as the forest, Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park also boats a zoo, library and a museum, and supports wood processing, handicrafts and various local industries. The museum of the nature of Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park is of the most visited in Belarus. He will acquaint with seasonal features and the most striking traits of the nature in different time of the year and also with inhabitants of a dense forest during different historical eras. The museum has three main thematic halls with one thousand exhibits telling about the history and present of Belovezhskaya Pushcha and its unique nature. Demonstration of open-air cages are located near the Museum of the nature of Belovezhskaya Pushcha. On the area about 20 hectares you will see main types of its flora and fauna. You may come close to the forest inhabitants, to treat with a bread piece, apple or a branch of the bisons who got used to visitors, elks, boars, a tarpanovidny horse or a bear.
