During the tour, you will see the most picturesque corners of the Belarusian land, which for centuries inspired poets and artists. Vitebsk - easily and naturally swims over the river its temples and winds the ancient streets, directly from the paintings of Marc Chagall. Masterpieces by Ilya Repin are reminiscent of his estate in Zdravnevo. The lungs of Europe are the age-old swamps of the Berezinsky Reserve. The tour in Minsk will complete the tour by showing the beautiful modern and ancient capital of Belarus.

Day 1: Vitebsk

We warmly welcome you to Vitebsk. Located on the bank of the Western Dvina Vitebsk originated in the 10th century and played an important role in the history of Belarus. The rich history enables you to visit the most interesting parts of the city as well as to enjoy cultural programs around the year.

You will visit its historical part with the preserved and restored buildings of the XVIII-XIX centuries. You will see the symbol of the Magdeburg city right - a graceful town hall, built-in 1775 (now the Museum of Local Lore). On the high bank of the Western Dvina, you will see one of the monumental buildings of the old Vitebsk - the Palace of the Governor (XVIII century), which keeps the memory of the stormy past of the city where Napoleon Bonaparte stayed during the war of 1812.

Restored on the steep bank of the Vitba River, the Assumption Cathedral of the former Basilian monastery has become an elegant visual dominant of the city. You will also see the Resurrection Church - a monument of Vilno Baroque architecture; restored in the Byzantine-style Church of the Annunciation.

The cultural heritage of Vitebsk also includes the historically formed planning structure of the city and buildings in the Art Nouveau style. During the tour, you will see a stylized medieval tower "Dukhovskoy Kruglik", funny street sculptures, and original small architectural forms. You are also strolling along the picturesque pedestrian street of the city with souvenir shops, art galleries, and coffee shops

At the beginning of the 20th century, Vitebsk turned into a kind of symbol of the dynamic art of the world-famous "Vitebsk School", whose brilliant representatives were Marc Chagall, the author of the mysterious "Black Square" Konstantin Malevich, the creator of the Russian seasons in Paris Mstislav Dobuzhinsky. Masterpieces of these artists are exhibited in the largest museums in the world and have glorified our school of painting.

Visiting the MUSEUM OF MARK SHAGAL in the house on Pokrovskaya Street, which in the early 1900s was built by the father of Marc Chagall and where the artist spent his youthful years. The museum presents household items of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, copies of archival documents, and works of the artist, telling about the life of Marc Chagall and his family in Vitebsk. Chagall’s graphic works exhibitions are constantly held in the Art Center of Marc Chagall.

Moving to Zdravnevo (21 km)

You will see the restored Ilya Repin’s homestead in Zdravnevo with its interesting museum exposition, picturesque buildings surrounded by wonderful landscapes

The museum was created on the site of the manor of the artist where the paintings «Belorussian», «Autumn Bouquet», «In the Sun», «Duel», «Moonlight Night», etc. were drawn. In the exposition: things from the use of the Repin family, furniture of the end of the XIX - beginning. XX century, Repin watercolors, drawings, and icons are written for the Sloboda Church, as well as original photographs, letters, and books.

Moving in Domzhericy (150 km) to the Berezinsky biospheric reserve

The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve is a standard of untouched nature, protected forests, and unique sphagnum bogs, thanks to which Belarus is rightfully considered to be the "lungs of Europe". It is the oldest biosphere reserve in the system of protected natural territories of Europe. And the ecological path is a pathway that will guide you through the protected forest and swamps, allow you to glance at the ancient forests from the sky, breathe the fresh pine air and open the curtain of nature's secrets - make an exciting trip to the protected world.

In the reserve, there is a spacious and modern forest zoo. The characteristic inhabitants of the reserved forest live there. The animals live in conditions created as close to the natural environment - they look wonderful and behave naturally, however, they are more friendly to people than in the wild environment.

Recently opened after reconstruction, the Nature Museum invites guests to get acquainted with the way of animal and plant life of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve: 120 species of birds, 20 species of mammals, as well as various types of fish - they all represent the flora and fauna of the Belarusian forests. Favorable and comfortable conditions for acquaintance with the most interesting exposition creates also an interior of a museum - the modern equipment, rest zones, and good illumination. The museum guarantees you a great impression.

Minsk – the capital of the Republic of Belarus, its political and cultural center. It was first mentioned in the chronicles of the XIth century. Today, it is a dynamic city with expansive boulevards, modern and historical buildings, endless parks, and well-developed infrastructure. Being an impressive example of Soviet planning on a grand scale, Minsk however has a number of outstanding historical sights, proving the city’s rich history.

Sightseeing tour of Minsk includes the main avenues (Independence Avenue, Victory Avenue) and the architectural monuments of the XVIIth - XXth centuries (the Upper Town with the City Hall, Holy Spirit Cathedral and the Cathedral of Holy Virgin Mary, old streets of the Trinity Suburb).

The Victory Monument and the National Library (included in the list of the most outstanding buildings in the world) are waiting to be explored.
