Ecological tourism is a priority among other types of recreation in Belarus. In our territory, compared to many other European countries, there are still enough places where the civilization has not yet conquered the wild nature.
Such places include not only reserves and national parks where ecosystems are under the protection of the state but also many small natural places far from populated areas and roads - a forest wilderness, where you can go only on foot; small rivers on which the movement of watercraft is difficult; impenetrable marshes and many other interesting places attracting true connoisseurs of wild untouched nature.
Every year ecotourism will become only more popular and, perhaps, inaccessible, because a person is forced to constantly expand his possessions using all available means - construction of factories, settlements, roads, and communications.
At present, the inhabitants of Belarus, as well as foreign tourists, still have the opportunity to enjoy contemplation of the untouched corners of nature and spiritual enrichment from communicating with this wealth. The ecological kind of tourism can also be attributed to rest in village estates, where water, air, food, and other components are close to natural purity.
There are five National Parks in Belarus, protected by the State. Their work has been recognized and supported by UNESCO.
